Fishing For Wishes Makes a Big Splash in 2nd Year
On April 22nd, 42 teams composed of 120 participants loaded their fishing gears into boats and hit the waters of Tampa Bay for the 2nd Annual Fishing For Wishes tournament benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The inshore fishing tournament was held off the waters of The Getaway in St. Petersburg and was booked to capacity.
This year the event raised $80,000 from multiple sponsorships and donations. Then Chris LaFace, on behalf of RIPA & Associates, donated an additional $20,000 to make this year’s total contribution $100,000. This doubles the amount of money raised from last year’s tournament.
Title sponsorship was provided by Flagler Construction Equipment. Additional major sponsorships were donated by: Atlantic TNG, Florida Dewatering, Preferred Materials, Trans Phos, Stepp’s Towing and Pure Polymer.
Team LENNAR was the overall Tournament Champions for 2016. Winning individual prizes were: Brandon Stout from Team National Trench Safety for Largest Snook; Kristen Bates from Team RIPA for Largest Spotted Sea Trout; Bill Cassels from Team Trench Plate Rental for the Largest Redfish.
Many sponsors and vendors provided wonderful raffles prizes for the event, and each participant went home with a long sleeve fishing shirt and tournament hat, along with great memories from an enjoyable event that will benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation here in Central Florida. Make-A-Wish helps grant wishes for local children in the Tampa Bay area that are dealing with life-threatening medical conditions.
RIPA & Associates sends a big thank you to everyone who made this year’s tournament a big success. Please join us next year as we continue our quest to help local children who are in need.
